Tweed barters while our tourism grows

A SPIKE in Bartercard membership among tourism operators in the Tweed and southern Gold Coast region has fuelled increased business from holidaymakers.

Bartercard founder Andrew Federowsky said it was encouraging to see an increase in Tweed-based businesses joining the network in the last 12 months.

"The Tweed region has certainly seen strong growth throughout 2015 as local businesses incorporate Bartercard into their growth strategies," Mr Federowsky said.

He said Bartercard offered a creative way for businesses to improve cash flow and attract new customers through essentials such as advertising and promotion.

Bartercard was founded in 1991 and is Australia's largest trading network, with more than 20,000 cardholders exchanging goods and services to the value of $60 million each month.
