Music to their ears - Help Train Assistance Dogs

Community radio station YYY 87.6 FM is holding a family fun day-Bike, Cars and Guitars-to raise money for Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA) on Saturday.

The event sponsored by Bartercard Brisbane North, will be held at George Willmore Park on Ferny Way, Ferny Hills from 1-4pm.

Rockers Quill will perform and the YYY crew, based at St William’s Grovely, are calling for local musos to head to the park to help beat the Australian record for the most guitars playing Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water at one time.

Several car and motorcycle clubs – including Peugeot, Cobra, FC Holden and Goldwing – will have some of their finest vehicles on display; and there will be face-painting, musical games, rides, a sausage sizzle, snacks and coffee on offer.

All money raised will help the ADA train Labradors and golden retrievers to help people with physical disabilities gain freedom and independence.

To train one dog it takes two years and more than $27,000.
