Bartercard ramps up local presence with stadium sponsorship
Bartercard is excited to announce its recent signing as a sponsor of Jones Park, unveiling the newly branded Bartercard Stadium at the official launch this Thursday 6th July 2017.
The new sponsorship is a welcome boost to the sporting attraction, which has around 100,000 spectators and participants each year.
Jones Park is currently undergoing development where approximately $1.5 million is required to complete the training and function facilities in the pipeline, and Bartercard’s support shaves a considerable cost off this non-profit work-in-progress.
Bartercard TNQ’s Business Development Manager, Mr Geoff Byfield, said he is excited to have been partner to this sponsorship, which will see funds be invested into the volunteer-based venue’s facilities, grounds and gardens, in addition to promoting rugby and rugby league in Cairns where sport is the cultural fabric.
“Bartercard is thrilled to be associated with Jones Park which is a pillar of the local community, and it’s exciting to see the stadium washed in green,” he said.
“Bartercard is already ingrained in Cairns where we have built up a business presence for the past 25 years, and this partnership allows us to expand our reach further.”
Geoff, who joined the Bartercard TNQ Branch in February 2017, has set out to bolster the brand in TNQ, where locally over 200 members exchange products and services without the use of cash to attract new customers, conserve cash flow and grow their business.
“That’s why this sponsorship has synergy,” he said. “Whether it’s building up small business or sporting /not for profit organisations, Bartercard believes in supporting and giving back to its local communities as part of our grassroots initiatives.”
Last year Bartercard saved members over $130 million in cash Australia-wide and locally in TNQ it has a dynamic mix of businesses trading across most industries including hospitality, tourism, trades, accommodation and professional services.
In 2017 members are trading everything from dining to a haircut, accounting and staycation.
Jones Park is ‘home’ to approximately 3500 junior rugby league and union players combined, in addition to senior players, plus events like Touch Football, Oztag, school-based carnivals and the Indigenous Rugby League Carnival each year.
Founded on the Gold Coast in 1991, Bartercard is the operator of the world’s largest trade exchange where businesses conduct cashless transactions. There are members in eight countries including Australia, New Zealand, UK, Thailand, Cyprus, UAE, South Africa and most recently France. In 2017 Bartercard is celebrating 26 years in the marketplace.
